BREC to Host Volunteer Appreciation Event on November 6

BREC will host a Volunteer Appreciation Movie Night on Wednesday, November 6 at BREC’s Independence Park Theatre located at 7800 Independence Blvd. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. in honor of BREC’s volunteers and friends. All registered volunteers and groups are invited to join us at the event. Attendees should RSVP at brec.org/VolunteerRSVP by November 1.

Volunteer BREC promotes the action of volunteering and health and wellness benefits of volunteering to East Baton Rouge Parish and surrounding communities. With many events and projects, volunteers are a vital part of BREC’s past, current and future success. They contribute significantly by improving the safety, aesthetics and natural values of the parish’s parks while enriching and expanding recreation programs offed by BREC. Each year nearly 5,000 volunteers provide approximately 38,000 hours of service to BREC, which gives us a good reason to celebrate our appreciation to them.

The event is open to any BREC volunteer and one guest. It will consist of giveaways, movie snacks, an award presentation to honor our volunteers and a movie showing (PG-13).

For more information on this event, contact BREC’s Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator Ashlyn Lambert at 225-272-9200 ext. 470 or Ashlyn.lambert@brec.org
