BREC to Host Community Input Meeting for Highland Road Community Park
BREC will host a community input meeting for Highland Road Community Park on Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 5-7 p.m. in the Recreation Center Building on N. Amiss Rd.
BREC welcomes the public to attend the meeting to review plans for the new playground and splash pad to be built next to the existing Highland Road Community Park Recreation Center. Plans will show possible options for the location of the playground and splash pad as well as other recreational features such as adult work-out stations, tennis courts and landscaping, a detached restroom and sitting areas.
The public is invited to participate in a discussion about the exciting new plans and to complete a survey which will be used to guide BREC planning for the final design of the entire space.
The park improvements at Highland Road Community Park are being brought to the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish through the 2004 Imagine Your Parks Program and also include the current construction of a grand pavilion which will be available for rent to host outdoor entertainment events. The pavilion construction is currently on track to be completed sometime in the fall. For more information about this project, please call 225-272-9200 or visit brec.org.
