BREC to Host Grand Opening for Frenchtown Conservation Area on Oct. 22
BREC will host a grand opening ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. for the new Frenchtown Conservation Area, located at 17819 Frenchtown Rd. in Central.
The Frenchtown Road Conservation Area or “The Land Between The Rivers” will be the largest conservation area currently operated by BREC. The site is 495 acres of bottomland hardwood forest and currently has over three miles of trails, with access to the Amite River. The property is also home to a diverse spread of flora and fauna, including countless migratory birds.
Immediately following the grand opening, all guests are welcome to experience Frenchtown up-close and personal by joining BREC’s Conservation staff on a short, guided hike. Please bring appropriate footwear for trail conditions.
