BREC offers a variety of both tackle and flag football leagues for people of all ages. Children from 4 years old to adults can participate in flag football, while grade school children can compete by participating in BREC's highly competitive junior tackle football leagues.

 

Tackle Football


Junior Tackle Football
BREC Junior Tackle Football is divided into three leagues: ages 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 years olds.

BREC works with Louisiana Youth Sports Network's Louisiana Youth Football program to provide opportunities for every youth in the Greater Baton Rouge Area to play football at their particular age and skill level.

Please note that BREC does not register children for tackle football programs. Louisiana Youth Sports Network's Louisiana Youth Football manages all registration and youth tackle football.

Summer Youth and Adult Flag Football

Youth and Metro registration opens May 1.

Registration closes on May 31 at 4 p.m.
Games will be played on Saturdays.

Ages are 8-18.

This year BREC will offer a Metro League for high school and middle schools. All skill levels are welcome as the league's focus is fun, good sportsmanship and safe play while developing the players for the upcoming school season. Schools can register as many teams as they would like. Players can only play on one team per school.
It is an 8 game season with a playoff. Spots are limited so register early.

The Youth and Metro season will begin on June 8.

Metro League: $350
Youth League: $195 per team

 

Adult registration opens May 1.

Registration closes on June 7.
Games begin on June 23.


Women's League: $300 per team
Men's League (Sunday afternoons): $395 per team
Co-ed League: $395 per team
Men's Weekday League: $450 per team

 

Junior Flag Football
BREC offers junior flag football leagues for boys and girls ages 4-17.


Adult Flag Football
BREC offers both men's, women's and co-ed flag football leagues in both the fall and spring. Registration forms can be picked up at any BREC recreation center (junior sports only) or at BREC's main office, 6201 Florida Blvd.

Rain Outs/Rescheduled Games
Rainout Procedures for all BREC League Sports are as follows:
The Rainout Hotline number is (225) 273-0657 and is operable after 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on rainout days.
Official scorers will contact coaches when a game is rained out after 5 p.m. when possible.
Coaches are asked to contact parents and players
If a player does not hear from a coach, the player is asked to arrive at the designated field at the designated time of the contest
Please use the Rainout Hotline. Do not call the BREC Office. BREC cannot give out the phone numbers of the official scorers.
Rainouts may be scheduled with less than 24-hours notice.
