BREC's Therapeutic Recreation Department sponsors an Express Your Art Class at Independence Park, 7505 Independence Blvd., Room 118, from 10 a.m.-noon. This program, held every Tuesday through Dec. 8, provides adults with developmental/mental disabilities, ages 18 and up, socialization, recreation and fun. Participants are welcome to bring a bagged lunch and stay to eat with friends each day after the program have finished. Our staff will not be provided here, but we strongly encourage you to take advantage of the many extras at the facilities such as the walking trails, outside areas and picnic tables. Cost is $5 per person each week. There will be no programs during the week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 21-27. Call 225-926-4659 for more information.
