Cowboys & Cowgirls to Compete in River Road Roundup
BREC's Farr Park Horse Activity Center, 6402 River Road, invites participants and spectators to its Fall 2009 River Road Roundup to be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The River Road Roundup is open to all disciplines of riding and will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a course walk through at 9:15 a.m. This exciting day of competition is a timed race with "extreme" obstacles designed to not only push the horse and rider out of their traditional comfort zone, but also test their communication and horsemanship. Judges will be looking at horsemanship, cadence, control, horse's attitude and execution.
Classes will be divided into three categories, each with different pre- and day-of registration fees: youth (16 years and younger), $20 or $25; novice (non pro and/or non previous winners), $30 or $35; and open classes, $40 or $45. Prizes will be awarded to the top five finishers in each category.
