Virtual REGISTRATION happening now!
NATURE EXPLORERS VIRTUAL CLUB
Oct. 1-30 / 5-6:30 p.m. Thursdays.
Do you have a budding biologist, seasoned scientist, or an avid mud-pie enthusiast at home? Nature Explorers Virtual Club is the adventure for you!
After the success of our virtual camp we want to keep the fun going and are happy to present the nature explorers virtual club! This once a week club will dive into month long themes and explore concepts related to the world around us with virtual nature hikes through BREC Conservation areas, live animal encounters, active outdoor explorations, games, challenges, and much more! Join our enthusiastic naturalists for a themed month of adventure, engagement, and socialization.
Ages: 9-13 / Cost: $25 for all five sessions

CONSERVATION SCIENCE EXPEDITION
Sept. 22-Oct. 20 / 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays
Parents - Are you homeschooling and looking to branch out with your science lessons? Join us for a Conservation Science Expedition so your learners can explore nature from wherever they are! This five-week, project-based program will meet weekly over Zoom with our Naturalists to cover an important nature theme spanning the five sessions. Learners will get to interact with the Naturalist during the sessions, then will get to independently explore these topics while completing tasks on their own. Your learner's work will culminate in completing a project that they will present during the final session related to the series' theme.
Ages: 8-10 / Cost $25 for all five sessions

URBAN NATURE HIKES:

FOREST COMMUNITY PARK / Sept. 22 / 5:30-7 p.m.
MILFORD WAMPOLD MEMORIAL PARK / Oct. 6 / 5:30-7p.m.
Interested in exploring the nature oasis next door or looking to take your neighborhood walks to the next level? Our Urban Hike series is a great start! Geared toward nature novices of all ages, participants will enjoy a leisurely walk through a BREC park while learning some fun facts about the park's natural areas and the fundamentals of adventuring in the great outdoors. Woods walk
KENDALWOOD RD. PARK
Sept. 19 / 9-11 a.m.
$5 per person

Satisfy your curiosity about the trees you see at BREC Parks and your wonder about the animals that call BREC Conservation Areas home. Join a BREC Naturalist for on the Wood's Walk Hiking Series and pick their brain about a broad range of topics. Each hike in the series will dive into different topics connected to these unique sites in East Baton Rouge Parish. Come to one or multiple hikes in the series to indulge in the great outdoors.
