BRING YOUR GREEN THUMB TO FLOWER FEST

With summer coming to a close, it's time we prepped our native pollinator garden for fall blooms and we need your help to do it. This is great opportunity to learn from BREC staff about native plants and make a positive impact in the community at one of our premiere native plant gardens. Volunteers will be weeding, planting, mulching and installing bee boxes.

BREC'S FIGHT AGAINST ALIEN INVADERS
Invasive species are no joke and BREC's Natural Resource Management team is taking a no-nonsense approach to fighting these alien invaders. BREC has an Invasive Species Management Plan which outlines the target species at the top of our list and we are working on strategically removing and managing species from certain parks and management areas. Interested in helping out? There are several ways you can help including becoming one of our Green Force Volunteers. Learn more about how you can help below.

ONGOING ARDISIA REMOVAL AT FOREST COMMUNITY PARK
The last Sunday of every month, Green Force volunteers team up to remove ardisia from the habitat along the trail at Forest Community Park and they need YOUR help. You do not need any previous experience to attend. Bring some gloves and some friends to help fight this alien invader that is taking over the forest. Coral Ardisia or Christmas berry, Ardisia crenata, is a non-native woody shrub that is typically sold for landscaping and thrives in low-light forests. It is reducing forest biodiversity and our goal is to eradicate it from this park. Register for this month's project, today!
