BREC's 2020 Summer Camps
For decades, BREC’s Summer Camps have been an inclusive, family tradition in East Baton Rouge Parish! Parents recognize the quality of BREC’s summer program which is loaded with a diverse curriculum of fun, memory-making activities that are second to none. Campers experience recreational games, community field trips, recreational sports, cultural arts, develop new friendships and more. From recreation and theatre to animals and science, there is a camp for children of all abilities, ages and interests!
BREC offers inclusive opportunities to all patrons. If your child has a disability, our staff would like to meet with you. We recommend a recreational assessment be performed by a BREC employee prior to camp. Please see Camper Assessments below

WAYS TO REGISTER:
East Baton Rouge Parish residents can visit the site where they want to attend camp and register in person. Payments can be made using cash, check, money order or Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit/debit card. Deposits and scholarship program are for East Baton Rouge Residents Only and are available on-site only.
East Baton Rouge Parish residents can register at all locations through WebTrac, BREC’s online registration system. Patrons are able to register online from their computer, tablet or smartphone. Patrons can register online using a Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit/debit card at webtrac.brec.org. Full payment is required at the time of registration online, no deposits or financial assistance are available online, as they must be done on-site only.

Steps for a Successful Online Registration
Know your user ID and password ahead of time. If you cannot remember it, use the “Forgot Password?” at the top of the screen. Not sure if you have an account? Click “Contact Us” at the top of the screen to send a message with your name, address, email address and phone number. BREC staff will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Never registered online before?
Click on the Create an Account link at the top of the screen. Be Prepared. Be sure to login to the website before registration date to make sure your information is up to date and that you are familiar with the layout and navigation. FAQs are available for tips and answers to most questions. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open these files. If you still have problems, please email email@example.com or call 225-272-9200, EXT 1580. Camp sections are listed by location. Simply log into webtrac.brec.org, click on the Summer Camp icon, and select your location to view available sections.
BREC allows a registration deposit equal to half of the session(s) fee starting 1 on-site only. Anyone who wishes to hold a spot in any session can do so by paying half of the total weekly session fee. Registrants must pay the remaining balances of the weekly session fee no later than the Thursday before the session begins. Anyone who does not pay their balance by this time will forfeit their original deposit and their spot in the upcoming camp sessions. The original deposit is non-refundable but is transferable. Deposits are not available for online registration.
Registrants must request all refunds on a Summer Camp Refund form. You can download this form at brec.org/summercamp or pick one up at your summer camp location. If a registrant requests a refund more than 10 business days prior to the start of the session, BREC will issue the full session fee minus a $15 transaction fee. If a registrant requests a refund 10 business days or less from the start of the session, BREC will not issue a refund. All checks must clear before BREC processes any refunds. BREC does not issue a refund for any session already in progress.
Please, make sure your address is legible and up to date to avoid any delay with the refund process. Please allow 3-4 weeks for BREC to issue a refund after the refund form has been completed and submitted. If you do not have computer access, go to the summer camp site and request a Summer Camp Refund form. Refund Checks will be distributed to the name of the person on the summer camp registration

SEND A KID TO CAMP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
AVAILABLE TO EBR PARISH RESIDENTS ONLY
This year BREC will provide limited scholarship assistance using a new sliding scale model based closely on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. This model allows up to a $75 reduction on all summer camp fees to qualifying households, excluding the Baton Rouge Zoo, Golf and Tennis.
Scholarship applications are available at all summer camp locations. Households must complete BREC’s Scholarship Application in its entirety with the required documents for consideration. BREC does not make exceptions and does not offer scholarships for out-of-parish residents. Scholarships are available on a first come, first serve basis until funds are no longer available.

Does Your Child Have a Disability? Assessments are made for campers that have a disability regardless of the camp attended. Trained BREC staff will assess each camper’s needs and ability level, in order to provide the most meaningful camp experience for each camper. Campers who require any of the following: bathroom assistance, feeding assistance and challenging behaviors that require more than 1:5 staff ratio may be required to have an aide provided by the parents/guardians. Recreation assessments are performed in order to determine the appropriate camp setting for each camper: Camp Sunshine or an Inclusive Camp.
