BREC to Celebrate the Completion of Renovations at Gus Young Park

– Join BREC on Tuesday, October 31 for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the recently completed improvements and construction of the Gus Young Park Recreation Center located at 4200 Gus Young Avenue in Baton Rouge. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., with Halloween festivities and BREC-A-Boo to directly follow at 6:00 p.m.

BREC will host a Volunteer Appreciation Movie Night on Wednesday, November 6 at BREC’s Independence Park Theatre located at 7800 Independence Blvd. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. in honor of BREC’s volunteers and friends.

BREC to Celebrate the Completion of Its First Boat Launch at Highland Road Community Park

On Sunday, October 15 BREC will host a ribbon cutting and open house for the recently completed Highland Road Boat Launch located at 14024 Highland Road. The boat launch is located near the baseball fields. The event will begin with a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. immediately followed by canoe and kayak tours, a food truck, nature talks and more running until 4 p.m.
