Farr Park Equestrian Center presents River Road Roundup: Extreme Horsemanship Challenge
BREC's Farr Park Equestrian Center, 6402 River Road, invites participants and spectators to the 2010 River Road Roundup Saturday, Dec. 4. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with a course walk-through at 9:15 a.m. The competition begins at 9:30 a.m.
This extreme challenge is open to all disciplines of riding and involves a timed race with obstacles designed to push the rider and horse, test rider's communication as well as horsemanship. Possible challenges include bridge crossing, water crossing, cowboy curtain, backing through obstacles, small jumps, one-man cattle sorting and trailer loading. Judges, Dr. David Carter and Ethan Lee, will judge entries based on the following: horsemanship, rhythm, control and execution.
Class divisions include: Junior, ages 16 and under; Novice, non-professionals and non-previous winners; and Open, all ages. The first place in each division will receive a buckle. Prizes will be awarded to second and third place in every division.
Participants' pre-registration fee is $20, event-day registration is $25 and free admission for spectators.
