"Cut, Color, Create, COLLAGE" April 23

Searching for new forms of self-expression? Collage, which means "to glue" in French is an established form of contemporary visual art.

Enjoy opportunities for new spontaneity as you learn collage techniques from expert artist Randell Henry Saturday, April 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at BREC's Womack Park, 6201 Florida Blvd.

Open to all ages, the class's fee is $50 for in-parish residents and $60 for out-of-parish residents.

Henry is a Professor of Art at Southern University and presently serves on the Boards of Baton Rouge Gallery as well as the DeBose Foundation. Henry's mixed media collage paintings showcase the use of improvisational methods of playing with shape, color and pattern. With influences from abstract expressionism, cubism and African and Asian art, Henry explores dreams through his surrealistic collage images.
