Baton Rouge Gallery Now Accepting Applications for New Artist Members
East Baton Rouge Parish—Baton Rouge Gallery-center for contemporary art, one of the nation's longest-standing professional artist cooperative galleries, announced its annual call for new artist members.
Since its founding in 1966, Baton Rouge Gallery has grown into the area's premier contemporary arts center. The mission of the Baton Rouge Gallery, as adopted by its board of directors in May 1999, is to provide a forum for the arts, especially for professional visual artists to exhibit their art. The Gallery places emphasis on education and enrichment, including multidisciplinary arts programs.
As a cooperative gallery, existing artist membership make artistic decisions, like exhibit installations and artist membership, fostering an environment that promotes artistic exploration above all else. Currently, the gallery boasts an artist member roster of more than 50 professional artists ranging in media including fiber, print, drawing, glass, sculpture, painting, photography and more.
The gallery encourages artists of all media to apply free of charge. Applicants must complete their application no later than Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.
