BREC to Host Father’s Day on the Fairway on Sat., June 15
Join BREC for a Father’s Day event for the whole family on Sat., June 15 from 6-10 p.m., as BREC hosts Father’s Day on the Fairway at Historic City Park Golf Course, 1515 Dalrymple Dr.
The golf course will be open to the public for an evening of family fun, followed by a movie at sunset. Featured activities for the day include a dad’s hole-in-one competition sponsored by Galatoire’s Bistro, hamster ball fun, a family scavenger hunt, a putt-putt golf contest sponsored by The Backpacker, canoe and kayak excursions, a car show featuring the Baton Rouge Corvette Club, and The Baton Rouge Wednesday Food Truck Wround-Up.
There will also be a children’s art exhibit featuring artwork from BREC’s Baton Rouge Gallery’s Summer Art Camp participants and a jazz performance by the Jazz Souls.
Throughout the evening, a photographer will be on hand to take complimentary family photos in the beautiful park.
At sunset, BREC will show the movie, "The Greatest Game Ever Played" on the 7th hole. Free concessions will be provided during the presentation, while supplies last.
All fathers who attend will receive a Father’s Day gift from BREC – a free golf towel, tee kit and sports bag.
The event is also a part of BREC’s recently launched Expedition BREC program. Individuals participating in Expedition BREC can receive extra points and a stamp in their passport for attending the event. Other attendees will also have an opportunity to sign up for Expedition BREC, if they would like. The program runs through October and encourages children and families to get moving, get outdoors and have fun.
The event is dog-friendly, and pets are welcome. All dogs must be on a leash and have current vaccinations.
