After-School Counselor will assist in recreation programs around the community. Must possess some college and experience working with children. $7.50/hr

Center Supervisor  High school diploma or equivalent; Basic mathematical skills; Strong interpersonal skills, ability to instruct, direct and relate with public in a positive manner; Ability to schedule, administer, evaluate effective recreation programs. Hours may fluctuate from core hours of 3-7 hours per day, 5-6 days per week; up to 29 hours per week; some weekend work may be required. $7.40/ hr.

Communications Intern  Mass Communications major; Will assist the Communications department with special projects and events; assist with press releases, advertising and the BREC website, other duties as assigned; verbal and written communication skills.$7.40/hr.

Cycling Clerk H.S. diploma or G.E.D.; Valid LA driver’s license; one year exp. in a recreational setting; First Aid & CPR cert. w/in 30 days of hire; collecting fees; Maintaining condition of track and mechanical operation of bicycles; Ability to ride a 20" bicycle; Bicycle maintenance knowledge desired.

Equipment Specialist / Train Operator HS diploma or equivalent desired; some knowledge of train mechanics; strong interpersonal skills; valid LA DL and basic math skills. The Zoo Train Operator maintains and drives the train along a predetermined route through the Zoo while delivering verbal information about the Zoo to passengers. Hours: Vary $8.14/hr

Fitness Attendants High School diploma or equivalent; Current CPR certification; Knowledge of fitness equipment; Knowledge of wellness and fitness programs; Strong interpersonal skills. $7.40/ hr.

Food and Beverage Clerks Will prepare food for guests, operate cash register, and maintain equipment.  Must possess a valid Driver's License. Some lifting is required. Good communication, fast food cooking, and math skills are a plus. A neat appearance is also desired. Hours: Vary. $7.40/hr.

Gift Shop Clerk at the Zoo Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent; have a valid LA Driver's License in good standing, basic mathematical abilities, and excellent customer service experience.  Will operate cash register, stock merchandise, and assist customers in item selection.  Hours: Vary. $7.40/hr.

Golf Cart Attendant Works mainly outside maintaining, renting, and overseeing use of golf carts, Cleaning and maintaining of golf carts, picking up and cleaning balls, cleaning restrooms, and other duties as assigned. Must possess a valid LA Driver's License. Hours: Vary. $7.40/hr

Golf Shop Clerk  Must be HS grad or equivalent, have valid LA Driver's License with a good driving record, and retail/customer service experience.  Will collect fees; operate cash register, provide exceptional customer service; general office/clerical duties. Hours: Vary. $7.40/hr

Golf Laborers Must have a valid LA Driver's License with a good driving record.  Groundskeeping/horticulture experience preferred.  Must be able to perform physical, outdoor manual labor.  $8.8215/hr.

Head Tennis Pro Must be HS grad with some college preferred; USPTA or PTR certified; supervisory experience; court maintenance and stringing experience; experience operating tournaments, camps and on-court programs. $14.36/hr.

Park Rangers   two years of security experience desired; Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with associates, patrons, community groups and the general public. Excellent moral character and an acceptable driving and police record. $10.20/ hr. 

Program Aides Basic math skills and customer service experience required. High School diploma or equivalent required.  $7.40/hr.

Stablehand No formal education required, Must read & write to receive work instructions; Ability to maintain cleanliness; Experience with animals; Attention to detail regarding animal care; Feeds and waters horses; turns-out and cleans stalls and other duties related to animal care; Loads, unloads and pushes wheel barrow with manure and solid bedding from stall areas to stockpile; Assists with rounding up horses from pasture for lessons; Assists with clean up of all areas of the facility; Loads, unloads and carries bags of feed, bales of hay and bags of shaving; Assists with preparation of stall/pens/arenas and portable structures used for functions; Other duties as assigned. $8.82/hr

Technical Aide Will load and unload trucks, issue supplies, stock shelves, perform janitorial duties and some light maintenance. HS Diploma or GED and valid Louisiana driver’s license required. Hours: Mon – Fri; 6:30am – 12:30pm (4 days) and 6:30am – 11:30am (1 day). $7.40/hr.

Tennis Shop Clerks for several locations.  Must be HS grad or equivalent with previous retail or customer service experience.  No tennis knowledge required, but is helpful.  Will maintain tennis center, assist patrons, reserve courts, sell merchandise, prepare financial reports, etc. Hours: Vary. $7.40/hr.  
  
Ticket Seller will work at the Zoo Admissions gate; HS diploma preferred with cash register/retail sales experience. Hours: Vary. $7.40/hr.

Tour Guides for Magnolia Mound Plantation.  Must be HS grad with history background or experience in tour business.  Must have customer service, public speaking skills, and be willing to work some evenings and weekends.  Will guide tours and assist with gift shop sales and programming.  $7.40/hr.

Riding Instructors needed for the Horse Activity Center, High School Graduation or equivalent; Experience working with and riding horses; knowledge of horses, their health and habits; teaching experience also required.

Rock Wall Clerk H.S. diploma or G.E.D.; Valid LA driver’s license; one year exp. in a recreational setting; First Aid & CPR cert. w/in 30 days of hire; collecting fees;   Maintaining condition of rock wall and climbing equipment;  Climbing wall knowledge desired ; Ability to climb 35 ft wall.

Tennis Instructors no formal teaching experience required, must have good skills and the ability to instruct youth and adult groups.  Experience and certified a plus!
