ADA Transition Plan
ADA Transition Plan
What is an ADA Transition Plan?
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law that mandates equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities to help build a better community for all of us. The ADA encompasses all types of disabilities and includes requirements for not just buildings and parks, but for programs, events, and services.
The federal government mandates that public agencies have an ADA Transition Plan, schedule and budget to achieve ADA Compliance and provide annual updates to the progress of the plan.

How the Plan was Developed
BREC worked with ADA compliance specialists Altura Solutions to audit all of our current facilities and parks to determine the level of compliance. The consultants evaluated BREC's programs and services offered to the public. The final Transition Plan document includes these analyses and a projected schedule for compliance with a proposed budget. As a part of the schedule, a priority matrix will be created to reflect the local community's input.
