New Features in Current Project Improvements:
- The project is the first new park in a series of improvements along the Plank Road Corridor Project. This is a new BREC Neighborhood Park that BREC worked with Build Baton Rouge, Republic Services, LSU, and many others to envision/accomplish.
- New Community Gathering Space with Future Pavilion and Food Distribution Shed.
- Multiple new surfaces, including Permeable Pavers, Decomposed Granite, Artificial Turf, and New Concrete Walks/Drop-off Paving.
- An on-site cistern will collect stormwater from the pavilion roof and serve as an irrigation source for planters.
- Bioretention Planters will capture, store, and clean the site's stormwater.
- A fully Native Louisiana landscape palette is planted on-site, featuring trees, shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers to celebrate the changing seasons.

- 2023: Design Development
- July 2024: Construction Documents Complete
- Aug 2024: Project Bid
- Oct 2024: Groundbreaking with Community Partners
- Dec 2024: Construction Underway
- The project is estimated to be completed by the Contractor in Early Summer 2025.
- The tentative Ribbon Cutting / Community Event date is early June 2025.
