2025 Community Recreation Summer Camp

Camp BREC

Our camp opportunities are created to provide campers with an enjoyable camp experience full of exciting activities and unique fieldtrips. They will be in an inclusive atmosphere that encourages developing friendships and an array of skills. Our program includes quality activities and a chance to reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones along the way.

Specialty Camps

Buckle your seatbelts for an exciting summer with our Specialty camps! We have developed eight unique weeks that will concentrate on adding fun and variety (and some learning) to the summer! We will have expert guests/instructors, field trips, crafts, and activities that support that week’s specialty. To provide quality experiences for our campers, our field trips can sometimes take place outside of East Baton Rouge Parish. The schedule including field trips is communicated the prior week in the parent email. 

Adventure Island

Campers will be given an opportunity to uncover the wonders of the natural world through play, exploration, games and crafts. Your camper can expect walking, climbing, exploring, open-ended art, nature games, fishing, magical stories and lots of structured nature play during this week.

Animal Adventures

Let’s crawl, growl, and prowl our way to BREC for an exciting animal-themed week filled with activities, crafts, and games! This adventurous week features up-close encounters with both creepy critters and lovable animals, making it an unforgettable wild experience for all.

Discovery Camp

This BREC STEAM camp is an exciting and immersive summer program that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. This camp provides children and young learners with the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, explore new modes of thinking, and develop essential skills. STEAM camps also provide a platform for children to develop important 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Game Quest

Welcome to Game Quest, where every day is a new adventure! At this camp, we dive into the world of games from every angle - board games, video games, outdoor games, and everything in between. Whether you're mastering strategy in a classic board game, leveling up in epic video games, or teaming up for thrilling outdoor challenges, Game Quest is the ultimate destination for game lovers of all kinds.

Louisiana Lagniappe

Experience the enchantment of Louisiana! Get ready for an unforgettable week diving into the heart of the Bayou State. From serene swamps to vibrant cities and everything in between, Louisiana is truly unique. This week, we will celebrate all things Louisiana—from the festive spirit of Mardi Gras and soulful music to its rich history. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Splash-In

Are you ready to make a splash? Join us for an unforgettable week of swimming lessons and water safety activities! Pack your towel, goggles, swim shoes and sunscreen, and get ready to dive into an exciting aquatic adventure. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned swimmer, our programs are designed to help you develop your skills and stay safe in the water. Don't miss out on this opportunity to have fun and learn something new.

Sports Mania

Whether you are an aspiring athlete or simply enjoy staying active, our camp includes an action-packed summer filled with sports and excitement! Campers will explore a wide range of activities led by passionate staff who know how to make every moment fun. With a focus on skill-building, teamwork, and sportsmanship, we ensure every camper has an unforgettable experience while staying active and engaged.

Wellness Warriors

Get ready to take it to the next level with exciting activities, field trips, and special guests, all geared toward helping campers discover the keys to physical and mental health while having a blast! Along the way, they will build confidence, form friendships, and create lasting memories in a fun and encouraging environment.
