Sports Academy Holiday Basketball Camp

Sports Academy Holiday Camps will teach new drills and techniques that will help you dominate on the court during this holiday season! Campers will go thorugh various stations, competiotons, and five vs. five games that will help imporve their overall game as well as individual abilities and basketball IQ.

Full Day: Nov. 25 + 26/ Half Day: Nov. 27

7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m./ Ages: 6-14/ $35 per child

Registration period: Oct. 1 - Nov. 15

Youth Basketball

BREC Athletics has transitioned to a grade-based platform, so the school year grade will determine placement of youth. If a coach has a dispute with age requirements, he/she will need to send written notice of dispute to athletics@brec.org before any given game to evaluate any child age requirements.

2025 BREC Basketball Eligibility Requirements

This is for the Oct. 1, 2024-to-Dec. 31, 2025 BREC Basketball season. 

*AGE/GRADE DIVISION RULES (will be used for ALL 2025 Basketball Leagues) 

*Report Cards and pictures will need to be submitted during registration 

• Little Ballers - (6U/Pre K-Kindergarten) 
• Freshman - (8U/1st -2nd Grade) 
• Sophomore - (10/3rd Grade-4th Grade) 
• Junior - (12U/5th Grade-6th Grade)
• Senior - (14U/7th Grade-8th Grade) 
• Varsity - (15U/9th Grade) 

Age/Grade Divisions

Little Ballers (6U/Per K – Kindergarten) An athlete can be no older than 6 on or before August 31, 2025. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 1st grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 7 on or before August 31, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 6U/Per K - K division. s

Freshman (8U/1st-2nd Grade) An athlete can be no older than 8 on or before August 31, 2025. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 2nd grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 9 on or before August 31, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 8U/1st-2nd Grade division.

Sopomore (10U/3rd -4th Grade) An athlete can be no older than 10 on or before August 31, 2025. Grade policy: An athlete who is in the 4th grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 10U/3rd-4th Grade division. 

Junior (12U/5th -6th Grade) An athlete can be no older than 12 on or before August 31, 2025. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 13 on or before August 31, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 12U/5th-6th Grade division. 

Senior(14U/7-8 Grade) An athlete can be no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2025. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 8th grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 15 on or before August 31, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 14U/7th-8th Grade divsion. 

Varsity (15U/9th Grade) An athlete can be no older than 15 on or before August 31, 2025. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 9th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 16 on or before August 31, 2025 is eligible to compete in the 15U/9th Grade division. 

YOUTH BASKETBALL OF BATON ROUGE – WINTER LEAGUE

All Coaches a required to complete and submit a BREC Volunteer Coaches Background Check each year before they are able to start team practice at any BREC facility. Team Registration: Saturday Jan 4, 2025

Start Date: Sunday, Jan 5, 2025 

League Cost: $350 Per Team (Teams can pay half to start practice. The blanace is due on Dec. 20, 2024).

Team Practice Starts on Nov. 4, 2024 at BREC Facilities.

YOUTH BASKETBALL OF BATON ROUGE - YOUTH GIRL’S DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM

BREC Youth Girl’s Developmental Program will be a recreational instructional league. Girls ages 6-12 will learn fundamental basketball skills, while competing in a fun & supportive enviorment. Volunteers will be needed!!!

Fundamental Clinic #2 April 20, 2025 9:00-12:00

League Groups: Sophomore: 3rd-4th/Juniors: 5th-6th/ Seniors: 7th-8th 

League Play: May 4-June 8 

$75 per participant (inlcudes a jersey for league play)

Adult Basketball

WEEKDAY ADULT BASKETBALL 

Join an adult basketball league with BREC. No experience necessary. Play with friends and challenge yourself to stay active with BREC Athletics. Adult Basketball registrations are accepted online and/or contact athletics@brec.org.
