Pickleball Fee Changes

BREC is proud to have offered Pickleball since 1997 when our first courts were introduced for Adult Leisure Programs. Currently we offer 84 courts at 21 sites across East Baton Rouge Parish with a mix of staffed centers, indoor gyms, and outdoor courts. 

The Level 1 standard facilities are at our staffed Greenwood and Highland Road Community Park Tennis Centers. Play at Greenwood is $5 per day for unlimited play during hours of operation with free play on Fridays, $5 per court per hour at Highland, which equals $1.25 per player per hour to use the court for doubles play. Highland also offers two group play sessions for $1 per person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. These increases are to help cover the expenses of staffing, electrical, data, maintenance, janitorial services, and equipment, and are consistent with tennis prices at those locations. Level 2 indoor site prices were reduced from $7 a month to a one-time $5 key fob charge for life and Level 3 outdoor neighborhood courts are free to play on a first-come, first-served basis.

BREC will continue to adapt to the increased demand and scheduling of these opportunities as the sport continues to grow and will construct new courts at Airline Highway Community Park when construction begins sometime in 2025.
