Vibin' Yoga
Goodwood Park
Vibing yoga combines traditional yoga techniques with the rhythms and flows of hip-hop music. This workout combines elements of yoga and trapeze arts, that creates a full-body workout with a healthy dose of fun. Vibing Yoga may be the new start you are looking for. Come in and embrace a new journey of self-discovery, strengthening your personal yoga practice and learning a new skill. All classes will now be followed by an hour of Power Up Yoga.

Power Up Yoga

Now let’s take it to the next step and Power Up to it. Power Yoga is this style combines the athletics of Ashtanga with the flow of Vinyasa. Power yoga practice can include almost any yoga pose, put together in sequences designed to build strength and endurance.

Open House Junior Singles Tournament
Capital One Tennis Center at City-Brooks Community Park
This is a great opportunity for beginner youth players to experience playing in a tournament. Round robin format playing 10-point sets. Free pizza, snacks, and beverages for players.

Movie in the Park: Star Wars

At a park, near near by, immerse yourself into a galaxy far far away for a STAR WARS Movie in the Park, happening on a most iconic date for all Star Wars fans, May 4th! Grab your padawans or your fellow Rebels for an epic outdoor screening of the ORIGINAL TRILOGY!

Pets and Paddle
Milford Wampold Memorial Park
Bring your young pawdawans to the bark side at University Lakes, and May the 4th be with you! This all-in-one event, in cooperation with Friends of the Animals, is an annual fundraiser and pet adoption program. Make a $10 contribution to Friends of the Animals and take your pooch out in a kayak or paddle board. This is a great opportunity to help a wonderful cause and enjoy some time outdoors with your four-legged friends.

Summer Kick-off
Perkins Road Community Park
Come KICK off the Summer with us and enjoy a day-long celebration of the start of summer at the skatepark! Come join us for music, food, fun, and extremely good riding. Beginning at noon, the park will get blasted with non-stop music as well as food vendors! We will have a skatepark contest involving our Skaters, Bikers, and Scooters with fantastic prizes for top finishers!

Late Night Hype
Gus Young Ave Park
Come out for an unforgettable late-night experience at the launching of Late Night Hype.
This event is dedicated to nurturing your mind, body, and soul through a variety of
community resources and basketball during untraditional hours at your neighborhood park.
Take part in the 5v5 Basketball tournament (Free Agent or Team Registration available online or on-site), explore a spectrum of activities designed to enhance your mental health, spiritual well-being, and overall recreational enjoyment, engage and enjoy in art and food, immerse yourself in music, and partake in exciting and fun-filled activities.

Flower Fest Volunteer Project
Howell Community Park
Come help us maintain our beautiful pollinator garden at Howell Community Park. This workshop/project will include weeding, re-mulching and learning about native plants. Come out and give your green thumb some use while learning something new!

Zoo & Me Mornings
BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo
This program is designed for 3 to 5-year-old children accompanied by a parent or guardian. Every Zoo & Me Morning incorporates exciting activities including animal encounters, art projects, "Zooper" snacks and many other hands-on projects that you and your child can enjoy together

Fae Fest
Independence Community Park
Come out and join us for a magical day of fun for everyone! Come dressed in your favorite FAE costume and celebrate the earth and how to preserve and make it beautiful while enjoying whimsical and fun activities with a FAE twist. This event will feature carnival games, clowns, stilt walkers, FAE folk, face painters, crafts, and other exciting family entertainment for all to enjoy. With each carnival game, you can earn tickets to redeem popcorn, cotton candy, and other great prizes! Admissions is free for fairies, sprites, gnomes, and elves of all ages. Costumes are certainly encouraged!

Dance the night away with BREC Adaptive and Families Helping Families as we host our monthly Sunshine Socials for adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their friends and family. Be creative and dress to match each month's theme. Enjoy dinner, dancing, and door prizes.

Magnolia Mound
Magnolia Mound joins with other worldwide museums in observing the importance and cultural significance of museums. Special Exhibits and tours highlighting the work of the museum will be offered. Free admission.

International Astronomy Day
Highland Road Park Observatory
Come celebrate the world of Astronomy with the largest and best IAD Celebration in South Louisiana. The whole family can come learn and explore with activities, games, exhibits and demonstrations from individuals that help make the world of STEM, Astronomy and Science moving forward and every changing. Music, food and of course sky viewings will all be on site for this annual celebration.

Make A Splash
Liberty Lagoon
Adaptive guests will be one on one with volunteers throughout the event, allowing for safe and fun involvement while keeping all sensory issues to a minimum. Participants MUST pre-register. Registration Opens April 15!

STEM Expansion
Highland Road Park Observatory
Advanced demonstrations and topic extensions for an older teen crowd. Archived experiments including some not seen in over fifteen years, are joined with timely, cutting-edge demos and concepts. Certificates earned by participants. Registration closes the Friday before class.
